President's Message - October 2017

Welcome Ladies,

At the meeting this Thursday - Please display one of your UFO projects for voting.  If you have another, please show us at Show & Tell.

AND

We are very excited to have Kelli Thompson lecture and present her trunk show about a machine quilting technique called - ZENTANGLES.  Fyi, Kelli is the sister of guild member, Karen Velupillai.  There is a lot of talent in that family.  Kelli's class is Sat., Oct. 7th.  Space available.

Thanks to Joni for the Debbie Ingram Trunk Show last month.  Debbie was a very prolific quilter and had made so many tops that there were enough for a very delightful show of her work.

Joni and her gang of quilter friends made the sale of Debbie's fabrics and notions a great success last Saturday.  Stan and the Ingram Family are so very grateful that these items that Debbie loved are now shared with her friends and fellow quilters.  There is still enough stash left for another sale in the future.  Thank you for your patronage and assistance to the Ingram Family.

Remember to turn in your Christmas Lotto Blocks to Joni and Jo.  Turn in  your (Lucky Stars) Lotto Blocks to Alice. The Christmas lotto quilts are to be won at the Christmas Party.

The 2018 slate of guild officers will be announced.  Please, Volunteer as a chairperson or committee member to lead the guild in 2018 and make it prosper.  It is exciting and  personally rewarding to facilitate the quilting experience that we all share.  Bring some ideas to the table.

Please support the Fall Arts Festival on October 21st.  Our friends at Remember Me guild have made this event very popular.  Everything takes place here at church.

The Houston International Quilt Show is 3 weeks away.  Folks are getting really excited.
Classes begin Oct. 30th and Preview Night is Nov. 1st.  We will meet in November after the Houston show.

As my tenure as guild president draws to a close I humbly thank you all for your support, your kindness, and your compassion for others.  All of you have enriched my life immensely.  Come January, I'll be sitting in the audience with you and enjoying the meeting from a different point of view.  I may even make a quilt !!

You all have my love and my thanks.

SEW, dear ones, be inspired, as I am by your creativity and drive,

Daisy
