Committee -- Goals and Purposes

  • AuctionBarbara Lankford- organizes basket prep, set-ups, cashiers, runners, auctioneer, etc.
  • Birthday TableElaine Gosselin, Debbie Hulett, Stella Goodbee -- manages sale of tickets and drawings for donated gifts
  • Community Service --  Connie Ewbank - distribute supplies to committee members; set up workshops to make kits/quilts/other items for recipients (past beneficiaries have included Parker House residents); provide Newsletter committee with updates
  • Christmas Lotto-- Jackie Wood, Beverly Amedee, Brenda Gauthier - forms committee to select patterns, fabric, prep kits for July meeting, sales, organizes sewing sessions to make tops, drawing at Christmas Party. 
  • Christmas Party -- Mary Wolf, Mary Daigle - coordinates food, gift exchange, decorations, table set-ups, etc
  • Education and ProgramsJudy Momenzedah, Gaye Smith, Lenni Stickles -- coordinates presentations by contracted teachers, suggests and organizes educational technique demonstrations for monthly meetings; hands-on during meetings or on sew days
  • Fabric/Block SwapJudy Momenzedah, Renee Hoeprich - coordinate fabric swaps 
  • Friendship Groups/New Member Activities-- Tommie Morden - Greets guests and perspective members; keeps database of existing “quilting bees” accepting new members; generates listings of members looking to form new groups based on interests, location, and meeting times; coordinates weekend or day trips to out-of-town quilt locations, includes transportation, lodging, schedules
  • GSQA Liaison— Tommie Morden, Karen Perron - attends GSQA quarterly meetings, reports content to guild
  • Guild ChallengesGaye Smith- annual challenge(s) - picks theme, fabrics, makes presentation
  • Guild RetreatsCynthia McGee - coordinates dates and locations for weekend sewing retreats; firm dates in February and September
  • Lotto BlockBeverly Amedee, Brenda Gauthier- March and August, picks fabric and pattern, prepares kits for sale, drawing
  • Meeting Logistics-- This could be you - coordinates helpers to set up room, presentations, and clean up at meeting's end
  • Mystery Quilt -- Glenda Parks - obtains and disseminates instructions to participants in the mystery
  • Newsletter -- Suzi Montague - produce monthly newsletter
  • Public Relations -  Board Members - manages RCQG, photographs events, maintains current data, pictures, go-to information about guild, distributes press release to local media; contacts by e-mail follow-up to invite visitors to future meetings
  • Saturday Sew-In -- Jackie Wood -- Unlocks and locks the room and assures that proper cleanup take place at the end of the day,  
  • Show and Tell - This could be you -- Displays quilts during Show and Tell using clothesline system, then lays out quilts for sharing during the break.  
  • UFO Challenge-- Suzanne Elliottorganizes program and contest during selected month to choose winners based on categories voted on by membership (TBA)
  • AQS Ultimate Guild Challenge -- This could be you - organizes group to discuss theme, parameters, deadlines, coordinates show entries
